Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Friday, May 19th:

New York Yankees (-175, 10.5) at Cincinnati Reds

A lot of people expected a big season from Anthony Rizzo with the new shift rules in place, and the 33-year-old has responded by batting .295 with seven doubles, nine homers and 23 RBIs. He has been stellar to start the year, and he gets a good matchup tonight. Cincinnati is throwing Ben Lively out there, and he is unproven and just hasn’t shown he can work deep in games. He’s also a righty and Rizzo was known for hitting righties extremely hard before getting to New York. And he has been good against them to start this year.

The Yankees are also just favored in a game with a total of 10.5, so this is a game in which the oddsmakers are expecting some decent offensive production from New York. That’s why we’re taking the plus-money odds on Rizzo to delivery an RBI. It really wouldn’t be that surprising if he went yard and did it for himself.

Bet: Rizzo Over 0.5 RBIs (+145)

Boston Red Sox at San Diego Padres (-145, 8)

Masataka Yoshida has been awesome for the Red Sox to start the year, as the 29-year-old is batting .300 with six homers, eight doubles and 28 RBIs. Yoshida has also been better than expected against left-handed pitching to start the season, as he’s batting .282 with two doubles, a homer and six RBIs against southpaws. With that in mind, we’re not scared off by his matchup with Blake Snell tonight.

Yoshida has been delivering as a hitter on the road all season, and Snell is 1-5 with a 4.61 ERA this year. So, why not back Yoshida to come through at the plate against the lefty? This player combo is very reasonable for the rookie, and it’s paying out at plus-money odds.

Bet: Yoshida Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+125)

Miami Marlins at San Francisco Giants (-120, 7)

Sandy Alcantara is having a really lousy season thus far, but this is the ultimate get-right opportunity for the 27-year-old. Alcantara is going on the road to face a Giants team that isn’t anything special offensively. San Francisco also has the second-highest strikeout rate in the league against right-handed pitching this year. That’s why we’re going to Alcantara to strike out at least seven hitters tonight.

For as lousy as Alcantara has been this season, the righty has been missing bats recently. Alcantara has struck out nine batters in three of his last five starts. And he had eight strikeouts in his most recent outing against San Francisco, which was on June 2nd, 2021.

It’s just hard not to like Alcantara to go out there and make some hitters look silly. This game has a very low total, so he should be effective and avoid getting shelled again.

Bet: Alcantara Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-110)
