In the meantime, let’s examine where smart money is leaning for Wednesday’s MLB slate…

1:10 p.m. ET: Pittsburgh Pirates at Detroit Tigers (-155, 7.5)

The Tigers (19-21) won Tuesday night’s series opener 4-0, taking care of business as a -125 home favorite. In this early afternoon rematch, the Pirates (22-20) hand the ball to lefty Rich Hill (3-3, 4.35 ERA) while Detroit counters with fellow southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez (4-2, 1.57 ERA). This line opened with the Tigers listed as a -145 home favorite and the Pirates a +125 road dog. Sharps have laid the chalk with Detroit, steaming the Tigers up from -145 to -155. Detroit is receiving 66% of bets but 88% of money, signaling a heavy combination of both Pro and Joe support. Non-division favorites off a win are 150-85 (64%) this season. The Tigers have value as a favorite in a low total game (7.5), as the fewer amount of expected runs scored are more likely to come from the better team, and an interleague favorite, with the lack of familiarity benefiting the better team. Pros have also hit the under, dropping the total from 8 to 7.5. Currently 36% of bets but 72% of money is on the under, a notable sharp contrarian bet discrepancy. Rodriguez is 2-0 in May and hasn’t given up a run in 15 innings pitched (0.00 ERA). The Pirates are just 2-12 over their last 14 games. The Tigers are 9-4 over their last 13 games.

6:35 p.m. ET: Los Angeles Angels at Baltimore Orioles (-140, 9)

This is the third game of a four-game series. The Angels (22-21) took the opener 9-5, cashing as -115 road favorites. Then the Orioles (27-15) bounced back with a 7-3 win last night, cruising as -150 home favorites. In tonight’s rematch, Los Angeles turns to righty Griffin Canning (2-1, 6.38 ERA) and Baltimore taps fellow righty Kyle Bradish (1-1, 4.56 ERA). This line opened with the Orioles listed as a -130 home favorite and the Angels a +120 road dog. Sharps are banking on the Orioles to post another victory, steaming Baltimore up from -130 to -140. The Orioles are receiving 74% of bets and 89% of money, indicating heavy action from both the public and wiseguys. Home favorites off a win receiving 10-cents of steam or more are 58-27 (68%) this season. Baltimore is 18-3 as a favorite and 14-7 at home. The total is 9 with the under juiced to -115, signaling some under liability and a possible fall down to 8.5. The forecast calls for mid 60s with 10 MPH winds blowing in from center.
