Wednesday Betting Recaps

Wednesday featured a full 15-game MLB schedule (though the Angels-Tigers game was postponed, so just 14 games played).

For those playing the Women’s World Cup, there was also the U.S. playing to a 1-1 draw with Netherlands. The Draw was +270 in 3-way betting (in which bettors on Team USA or the Netherlands lost) while the U.S. failed to cover in 2-way betting as 0.5-goal favorites at -160 or 1-goal favorites at +120. The game pushed on the betting total of 2 goals.

For our purposes here, let’s get to our nightly MLB betting recaps, and then update the season-long betting stats.

MLB: Favorites/underdogs split 7-7 Tuesday with biggest upsets by Pirates (+168 in 3-2 win at Padres), Marlins (+160 in 7-1 win at Rays), Rangers (+153 in 13-5 win at Astros) and Cardinals (+140 in 11-7 win at Diamondbacks). Home/road also split 7-7. Overs led 8-6.

More MLB: Favorites lead 868-630 on the season with 25 games closing pick-'em. Home teams lead 794-725 overall with 4 neutral-site games. Unders’ slim lead was cut to 737-723-62 with 1 no-action.

A Numbers Game: Be careful betting baseball games right now, if they don’t involve teams still trying to make the playoffs. Teams that have clinched or teams that are completely out of it will be approaching games far differently. View more tips.
