Monday Betting Recaps

Monday was a relatively slow sports betting day after an action-packed weekend with just 6 MLB games, but we did have the College World Series decided, though LSU’s title-clinching victory was anti-climactic.

Let’s get to the details in our betting recaps that we post every night on Twitter @ViewFromVegas, and also the season-long betting stats in MLB, plus USFL with its championship game coming up on Saturday.

MLB: Faves went 4-2 on Monday with the upsets by the Tigers (+175 in 7-2 win at Rangers) and Brewers (+150 in 2-1 win at Mets). Home teams also went 4-2. Unders led 3-2-1 with push in DET-TEX (9).

More MLB: On the season, favorites lead 676-478 with 19 games closing pick-'em. Home teams lead 616-553 with 4 neutral-site games after the Cubs-Cardinals two-game set in London. Unders improved slim lead to 567-558-47 with 1 no-action.

CWS: No. 5 LSU routed No. 2 Florida 18-4 Monday night to clinch the College World Series (2-1 in the CWS Championship Series between 2 SEC teams). The ViewFromVegas is the Tigers were -135 favorites in the decisive Game 3 (flew way Over the betting total of 9.5 runs). Fave and Overs were both 2-1 in the series (LSU won 4-3 in Game 1 as +115 underdog; also the only Under of the title series).

USFL (ICYMI): Favorites/Overs are 2-0 so far in the playoffs. Including the regular season, underdogs still lead 22-20 SU overall and 27-15 ATS (64.3%). Unders still hold slim lead at 22-19-1 (53.7%).

A Numbers Game: Be careful betting baseball games right now, if they don’t involve teams still trying to make the playoffs. Teams that have clinched or teams that are completely out of it will be approaching games far differently. View more tips.
