Monday Betting Recaps
After a busy sports betting weekend, Monday was a relatively light day with just 10 MLB games on the Juneteenth holiday card with favorites and underdogs splitting 5-5 (capped by a wild victory on the West Coast by the San Francisco Giants, who extended their winning streak to 8 games).
Let’s get to our daily recaps, plus also updating the season-long betting stats, including the USFL as it heads to its playoffs this weekend.
MLB: Favorites/underdogs split 5-5 on Monday with the Giants (short -102 home dogs) rallying to force extra innings and then upsetting the Padres 7-4 on a three-run, walk-off homer by Mike Yastrzemski in 10 innings late Monday night for their 8th straight win. The biggest upsets on the day were by the Marlins (+135 in 11-0 rout vs. the Blue Jays) and Red Sox (+122 in 9-3 rout at the Twins). Road teams went 6-4 while Overs led 7-3.
More MLB: Faves lead 624-445 on the season with 17 games closing pick-em. Home teams lead 569-515 with 2 neutral-site games. Unders' lead has been cut to just 524-519-42 with 1 no-action.
USFL (ICYMI): Favorites/underdogs split 2-2 in Week 10 on Saturday and Sunday, but dogs finished 27-13 ATS (67.5%) during the 10-week regular season and actually also finished ahead at 22-18 SU. Unders went 3-1 in Week 10 and finished the regular season at 22-17-1 (56.4%) overall.
