Santa Anita Race No. 9 (8:08 p.m. ET/5:08 p.m. PT)
#2 Turn On The Jets (4-1)
Loved the way this Irish-bred gelding quickened when room developed a furlong from home in his highly rated first-level allowance turf score at Del Mar in August and he seems certain to step forward on the raise following a very impressive training track breeze six days ago. The Phil D’Amato-trained sophomore has a chance to move right up the ladder and at 4-1 on the morning line offers excellent wagering value in the Win pool and in rolling exotic plays.
Santa Anita Race No. 10 (8:38 p.m. ET/5:38 p.m. PT)
#5 Hawk of War (7-2)
Appears well-placed for a repeat score in this highly contentious middle distance turf allowance optional claimer. The Bob Hess, Jr.-trained gelding makes his first start following a $50,000 claim out of a nice win at Kentucky Downs last month and is logically returned to the same level while seeking some of that extremely valuable ship-and-win money. Based on speed figures, he’s the one to beat and a solid play at 7-2 on the morning line.
