Gulfstream Park – Race 4 – Post time: 2:31 ET
5-Silver Spur (5/2)
Missed by a neck while more than eight lengths clear of the rest following a 10 week layoff in a seven furlong sprint that should have him primed for a career top performance in this straight maiden race affair for older horses. This will be his first start around two turns, and the son of Anchor Down should greatly appreciate the added distance, so at 2-1 on the morning line for high percentage connections the 4-year-old colt seems solid in the win pool and in the various rolling exotics.
Oaklawn Park – Race 9 – Post time: 5:10 CT
6-Victory March (6-1)
Offers a good gamble at 6-1 on the morning line in this maiden main track miler for older horses. Sporting the always-popular two-sprints-and-a-stretch-out pattern, the son of Maclean’s Music has been victimized by self-caused trouble (slow starts) to begin his career, but his speed figures are on the rise, so if he can leave with his field this late-developing colt should finally be able to show his best stuff.
