Keeneland 6th race – Post time: 3:55 ET
4 – Twirling Savi (8-1)
Daughter of Twirling Candy blistered a quarter mile in :21 flat at the OBS April sale, brought $300,000 through the ring, and after a long series of steady drills makes her debut in this competitive six furlong spring for 2-year-olds. A bullet half mile breeze in :47 2/5 (fastest of 53) just a few days ago should have her cranked and ready for this high percentage trainer-jockey combo, so at 8-1 on the morning line the McLean Robertson-trained filly offers wagering value in the win pool and in the various rolling exotics.
Santa Anita 8th race – Post time: 4:30 PT
6-I Got a Gal (3-1)
Didn’t get the best of runs in her debut when caught behind a wall of horses entering the lane and then weakening late in a strong race at Del Mar last month, so we’ll give the daughter of Pioneerof the Nile another chance in this maiden sprint for two-year-old fillies. The Peter Eurton-trained filly has a ton of early speed and with a good gate break should be capable of wiring the field, so let’s make her a win play and rolling exotic key at or near her morning line of 3-1.
