Jeff Siegel's Best Bets for Friday (10-29)

Keeneland – First Race.  Post time: 1:00 ET

1-Money Mike (3-1)

Had the misfortune of facing the fastest 3-year-old in North America – the undefeated Flightline – in his racing debut and paid the price by pressing a blistering and then understandably faltering to finish fifth, beaten more than 23 lengths, in his only start last April.  The son of Into Mischief returns in a much more plausible spot and based on the amount of early speed he displayed at Santa Anita the R. Brisset-trained colt should have every opportunity to make the lead and never look back.  The local works indicate he’s fit and ready, so at 3-1 on the morning line let’s make him a win play and rolling exotic single.

Keeneland – Ninth Race.  Post time: 5:16 ET

8-Breaker of Chains (8-1)

Made her U.S. debut in a maiden race at Kentucky Downs last month and turned in a stunning performance to graduate as much the best despite failing to leave with her company and spotting the field many lengths at the start.  The daughter of Bernardini settled far off the leaders, commenced her rally wide on the turn and easily swept by her foes to win going away while earning a powerful speed figure, one that makes a major threat right back despite this raise into graded stakes company.  If she can avoid trouble at the break, the G. Weaver-trained filly could offer enticing long shot wagering value at 8-1 on the morning line.
