Beginning next week, baseball fans traveling to the Friendly Confines will have more than just the iconic ivy, bleachers and a Chicago-style hotdog to look forward to when they head to Wrigley Field.
On June 27th, DraftKings will open its doors to the public with its newest sportsbook. Located at the corner of Addison Street and Sheffield Avenue and adjacent to the stadium, this 17,000-square-foot venue will feature a sports bar, restaurant, and most notably, a 2,000-square-foot video screen showing up to 25 games simultaneously.
Even though the venue will open next week, the actual ability to place a bet in person, at the kiosk or counter, has a timeline that is yet to be determined due to pending licensure and regulatory approval from the Illinois Gaming Board.
In the meantime, spectators can stroll in and enjoy featured menu items such as their House Smoked Pastrami Sandwich, Prime Rib Sandwich and the Colossal Hot Dog. Plus, a variety of domestic and international beers will be available, including 10 signature selections on tap, as well as a full array of spirits and a curated list of wines.
Seating on the main floor will consist of traditional tables and bar stools, which are either first come, first serve or, depending on the day, can be reserved at varying prices. As you make your way upstairs to the mezzanine, reservation-only booths overlook the screens and all the fans below. For privacy, the sportsbook will offer semi-private spaces that can fit groups of up to 25 people, with prices starting at $3,000 to reserve.
