Coach Prime led Jackson State to 27-5 record over three seasons

It’s Prime Time in Boulder! The Colorado Buffaloes have a rich college football history, but have fallen on hard times in recent years. The hope is that those times are in the past with the arrival of new head coach Deion Sanders, who just led the Jackson State Tigers to a perfect 12-0 record in the SWAC and a berth in the Celebration Bowl.

Our own Mike Pritchard, a University of Colorado Sports Hall of Famer, and teammate of Prime Time from 1991-93 with the Atlanta Falcons, joined The Lombardi Line to talk about the hire and his first impressions with Patrick Meagher and Michael Lombardi.

Pritchard: “We needed somebody like Deion. Somebody with a presence. Somebody with a profile. And somebody who could relate with today’s student athletes… Prime Time will shine.”

Will Deion bring in the first assistants? What can we expect from CU football right away? After a 1-11 season and only two bowl appearances since 2007, the Buffaloes made an impact hire and they’ll look for immediate dividends.
