LAS VEGAS – The lines are getting bet into shape for next Sunday’s AFC & NFC championship games with the Chiefs and 49ers, the two teams with home-field advantage, both favored by around a touchdown.

After early betting following Sunday’s divisional playoff games, the Chiefs are 7.5-point favorites over the Titans with the Over/Under at 52 and potentially climbing while the 49ers are 7-point favorites over the Packers with a lower Over/Under of 45.

In Sunday’s first game, the Chiefs fell behind the Texans 24-0 but then rallied to lead 28-24 at halftime (going Over the closing total of 50.5 by intermission) and then pulled away in the second half to win 51-31, covering as 10-point home favorites. When sportsbooks decided the game was out of reach, the Chiefs opened as low as -7 at Caesars books in Vegas and as high as -9.5 at the Westgate SuperBook over the Titans (who upset the Ravens 28-12 as 10-point road underdogs), but both quickly met the rest of the books posting early lines at Chiefs -7.5. The Over/Under opened as low as 50.5 at the Westgate and as high as 52 at several books, including VSiN’s host hotel at the South Point, and looked like it was settling at 51.5.

After four hours of wagering (by the time the Seahawks-Packers game ended), Chiefs -7.5 was still at most Vegas books, though Boyd Gaming and William Hill books were dealing -7 with extra juice at -125 while Circa was the first to move to Chiefs -8. Meanwhile, the Over/Under moved up to 52 at eight of 12 Vegas books.

After the Packers beat the Seahawks 28-23, the 49ers (who beat the Vikings 27-10 on Saturday, covering as 7-point home favorites) opened as 7-point faves over the Packers at most books, though Circa Sports opted for 49ers -7.5. That lasted just 34 seconds, according to the line archive at Don Best Sports, before Circa joined all the other books at -7. The Over/Under for this matchup opened as low as 44.5 at Circa and as high as 45.5 at Westgate before everyone met at 45.

After an hour of wagering, 49ers -7 and Over/Under 45 was across the board except for the small, independent book at Treasure Island dealing 49ers -6.5 (-115) and O/U 45.5.

Monitor both championship game lines as they are updated by Nevada sportsbooks from now until gameday.
