This week’s VSiN live Premier League BetCast comes from the capital, where in-form West Ham host EPL giants Manchester United at the London Stadium on Saturday kick-off 12:30 ET.
It's a huge week for Manchester United and in particular their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær. They have this match, followed by a huge Champions League game on Tuesday in Germany versus Leipzig and then a Manchester derby with noisy neighbors City next weekend. Anything but two wins from those three matches and early elimination from the Champions League would see the United manager a firm favorite to lose his job and become the first EPL managerial casualty of the new season, so this match is of huge importance.
The visitors are available at even odds to win this match and I am sure many bettors will be tempted by that price (especially as United have won all four road games in the EPL this season), but I am not so sure and a word of caution is advised before placing that wager.
Tuesday's match against Lepizig is without question United's biggest game of the season and that has to be the priority over this trip to London. The starting 11 for Saturday may reflect the importance of Tuesday's fixture with key players likely to be rested. West Ham are managed by former United manager David Moyes, who will love nothing more than to gain revenge on his former side. With three successive wins in the EPL for the Hammers, the 260 on the home side looks big, especially when you consider all the subplots.
This has the feel of a match that both managers would settle for a point now if you offered it to them, and out of all the three match outcomes the draw (tie) makes the most appeal at 260. However, my main play on the match is to bet West Ham 0.5 on the handicap (which will see us cash on a home win) or a draw, which is available at -120 and would have cashed in five of the last six years in this fixture.
The common theme in our BetCasts this season has been to go under on the goal lines with all but one match cashing on the unders. This week the line is pitched at 2.5 goals with under available at 110, which looks generous. If you like your odds with a bit more juice, my correct-score prediction is for the match to finish 1-1 which will see all our tickets cash and looks nice at 7-1.
BEST OF THE REST
Manchester City landed a nice winner for us last weekend when they won to nil at home to Burnley and I like them to win to nil again this weekend when Fulham are the visitors to the Ethiad.
City have kept clean sheets in their last two matches and they have won the last 10 EPL matches against Fulham. In the last five in this fixture, they have won them all to nil by an aggregate scoreline of 16-0. So instead of playing City to win the match at -800, a City win to nil at -125 looks the much better option.
The biggest match of the weekend is the north London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal at the Tottenham Stadium and Spurs look on a different level to their arch-rivals currently and at anything around evens they look a play to get the win.
The price on Tottenham increased with the rumors that top goal-scorer Harry Kane could miss the game through injury but my sources tell me that the England captain will feature on Sunday and that will see them start the match at minus money, so move fast.
