It's another busy weekend in the EPL and our live BetCast comes from the Ethiad Stadium when Manchester City host improving Arsenal in a match kicking off Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET. LISTEN HERE.
Manchester City are the very heavy -225 favorites to get a much needed win, but we are yet to have a winning favorite on the Betcast and I wouldn't be rushing to the counter to take the short odds on the home side in this one.
Pep Guardiola's side have been poor at the start of the new season with an embarrassing 2-5 home defeat against Leicester and a below-par 1-1 draw at Leeds in their last match just before the international break.
City have problems defensively, and offensively they are hit with some real injury concerns which seriously impact their chances of winning.
Kevin De Bruyne had to pull out of the Belgium squad in midweek and is a major doubt as is Raheem Sterling and they are already without Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus ... the -225 is not looking so good now.
The problem is Arsenal have some injury concerns as well with defender Kieran Tierney a major doubt and a slight concern with captain and top goal-scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, which should deter anyone from taking the 650 on the visitors.
Arsenal are managed by former City assistant boss Mikel Arteta and he performed a tactical masterclass to beat his former side 2-0 in the FA Cup Final in August, but that was a rare win for the Gunners with City usually getting the better of their rivals in recent meetings.
The one thing that you would expect to see in this one is goals and I like Both Teams To Score in the match which is available at -185, but at that price I am inclined to leave it alone.
I give the visitors a chance of getting something from this match and the best wager is Arsenal 1.5 on the Asian handicap which is available at -150 and would be classed as a loser only if City win by two or more goals.
If -150 isn't a price that you want to take then throw a bit of pizza money on City to win this 3-2 which is a very nice + 1800 with some sportsbooks.
BEST OF THE REST
This looks a very difficult week to find much value in the EPL but if pushed I would bet SHEFFIELD UNITED at + 110 to beat Fulham early on Sunday (kickoff 7:00 a.m. ET).
Both of these sides have yet to get a point this season and both are my future picks for relegation.
The manner of Fulham's defeats have been so one-sided that a number of UK sportsbooks have already paid out on The Cottagers for relegation after just four matches.
United are much more defensively resilient and accomplished Premier League side and I expect them to grind their way to a boring 1-0 win, which is a nice price at + 600.
I was really impressed with LEEDS again on the last Betcast when they drew 1-1 with Man City and it's hard not to consider them value at + 150 when they host Wolves on Monday.
Leeds have been a breath of fresh air to this year’s Premier League and Marcelo Bielsa's entertainers are quickly becoming the nation’s second favorite side. They were brilliant at Liverpool on the opening day of the season and haven't failed to deliver in every performance since.
Leeds are without question the best side to be promoted from the Championship and look certain to be challenging at the top end of the table rather than the bottom at the end of the season.
Wolves have been hit or miss this season and were dreadful at West Ham recently in a 3-0 loss at the London Stadium. Wolves get a lot of plaudits, but I can never understand why as I believe they are one of the most overrated sides in the EPL. Remember that the majority of the Wolves squad is Portuguese and a lot were involved in the recent international break where Cristiano Ronaldo contracted COVID-19, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the infection spread to some Wolves players or if they are forced to self isolate.
