Another set of college football results went into the books on Saturday. Week 3 is always an interesting one because we see the start of conference play for a lot of teams or see the end of non-conference play for others. Context is really important when looking at the year-to-date stats, as the quality of competition varies greatly from team to team.
Some teams stepped up in class in a big way, while others really stepped down. While there are still big talent disparities within conference, teams are going to start playing against familiar foes with higher frequency, so things should tighten up and maybe even get a little more predictable as we go forward.
Surveying the box scores is a vital part of my college football handicapping and something that takes place every Sunday morning. Uncovering nuggets that can help with future bets can be very profitable and something that can also allow you to get ahead of the market moves.
Let’s look at a few Week 3 results and see how we can build off of those for the future.
