When VSiN launched its subscription product in the fall of 2017, the sports betting scene in the U.S. was a very different place.
For starters, it was only legal in Nevada. The menu of betting markets were limited – usually fitting on a few sheets of paper – and legal wagering was in person over a counter at a sportsbook.
Five years later, sports betting is legal in 30 states plus DC, the betting options seem endless and the majority of wagering is done on mobile devices.
Starting next Tuesday, we will relaunch our subscription offering with a new name and, more importantly, a new format that better serves what sports bettors need in 2022: Information and analysis that is faster, fresher and deeper.
The new VSiN Pro product will triple the original content written for subscribers, thanks to our stable of talented hosts, handicappers and analysts.
As VSiN Pro subscribers, here’s what you can expect from us:
Deep Dives: Regular analysis from our sport-specific experts (like Adam Burke’s daily MLB market report)
Bet Systems: Documented handicapping approaches using our proprietary database of
betting insights (like Steve Makinen’s college football stability system)
SeasonPrep: Our annual betting guides plus our season preview content (for example, the 100-page Pro Football Betting Guide coming out Thursday).
Picks at a Glance: Or as you know it now, Best Bets, laying out all the daily picks VSiN’s hosts and guests compiled throughout the day
Pro Tips: A completely new feature, these will be actionable insights from our hosts posted every hour we’re on the air. These will be compiled in one place on VSiN.com.
PropWatch: To reflect the growing proliferation and popularity of prop bets, we will have regular analysis to help you sort through the best opportunities on the betting menu.
Pro Tools: The power ratings and the betting splits (showing percentage of handle and money) are among the handicapping tools we offer on the site now. We will be adding new ones over the next few months. And we’ll be offering more instruction on how our pros use them, so you can, too.
You also will continue to receive full access to VSiN’s 24-7 video stream as well as replays of the shows.
To facilitate our expanded offering, we will be changing the way we deliver the content that has been in Point Spread Weekly.
When we started offering subscriptions in 2017, we published Point Spread Weekly every Wednesday morning in a PDF format. That meant everything we did was tied to a deadline of noon Tuesday. Over the years, we have increased the content posted to VSiN.com, but our schedule still revolved around that Tuesday deadline.
With this change, many of the articles that have appeared in Point Spread Weekly will be available on VSiN.com earlier than Wednesday. Conversely, some articles will be posted later in the week – closer to the events – so that they better reflect updated lines, injuries and lineup changes.
After all these years of emailing back and forth with subscribers, I do realize there are some aspects of Point Spread Weekly that are hard to duplicate on the website. So we will be publishing the VSiN Pro Matchups Guide during the football season – a PDF that will be a bit more manageable to print out if you want. It will contain capsules, advanced stats, and power ratings for every NFL game and the big college games of the week and will be posted on Wednesdays.
That means this week’s issue will be the last Point Spread Weekly as we know it. You will still be receiving all of the stories and data you’ve come to expect from PSW – plus much more than previously offered – but now it will be accessible quicker and with more timely lines and analysis.
